Mediums

The Mediums are wall-mounted sculptural drawings made with ink-soaked cords that have been dried into curled, coiled, or loosely tangled shapes. The configuration of each Medium changes with each installation, which is guided by a set of instructions that describe technical steps, gestural sensibility, and requirements for documentation.

The process I use to prepare the cord as sculptural material for the Mediums also generates related works on paper, such as the Transcripts and Readings, among others. arrange ink-soaked cords between thin sheets of Japanese paper, transferring the dimensional lines of the cords into the paper.
